Late inning lead change results in Post 46 loss

A back and forth game was decided with a three-run sixth inning for Everest, topping Post 46 8-5 on Wednesday night.
Post 46 took the early lead, scoring one run in the bottom of the first inning. Peyton Becker got on base with a lead off walk. Becker moved himself into scoring position, stealing second base. Holden Smith then singled to center field, scoring Becker. Everest responded with two runs in the top of the second inning and added one more run in the top of the third.
Post 46 tied the game, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third inning. Becker led off the inning with a double to left field. Casey Hoffman then doubled to center field, scoring Becker from second. Later in the inning, a pair of Everest wild pitches allowed Hoffman to score. Everest took the lead back in the top of the fifth inning, however Merrill would match them with one run in their half of the fifth. A Becker single, followed by two Evererst errors, set up Ty Bailey who grounded out to the shortstop, however still drove in the run.
Everest took their biggest lead of the game with a three-run sixth inning. Everest then added one more run in the seventh, taking an 8-4 lead. Merrill scored one run in the seventh inning, as Jake Bailey hit a bases loaded fly ball to left field, allowing Piersen Pyan to tag up and score from third base.

Leading hitters for Post 46 include: Peyton Becker (2-2, 3R, BB), Ty Bailey (2-4, RBI), Casey Hoffman (1-4, RBI, R) and Holden Smith (1-4, RBI).
