Friends of the Library putting on ‘ghoulishly low-priced’ book sale

Merrill area residents have been gracious to the Friends of T.B. Scott Library with their enormous donation of books. The library closets are, once again, packed to the ceiling and they are sinking into an abyss of books! The Friends of the Library are practically giving the books away during their “Ghoulishly Low-Priced Book Sale.” All books (and anything else the Friends of the Library have out on the tables) will only be 25 cents! Once you hit that 25 book purchase, you will receive a free reusable cloth bag to carry your books out with you.

The sale begins Thursday, Oct. 25, at 5:30 p.m. with Friends night. It’s easy to renew your 2018 Friends’ membership right at the sale; it’s only $5 for an individual and $10 for a family. If you are not yet a Friend of T.B. Scott Library, you can join Thursday evening. Marathon County friends of the library are welcome at this sale; just bring your membership card.

The sale opens to the public Friday, Oct. 26, at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Room at the library. There will be a large selection of both fiction and non-fiction books available, including CDs and DVDs.

The bargains continue on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 9:30 a.m. with Bag Day – fill a bag of books for just $2. The Friends also have a table outside the Community Room with books that are free.

The Friends of the Library sell books culled from the T.B. Scott Free Library and generous readers who donate used books. The Friends book sale proceeds support library programs and activities.
