Steckbauer garners repeat accolades

Due to his accomplishments on the basketball court and in the classroom; MHS junior Quinn Steckbauer has once again earned Merrill Foto News: Athlete of the Week honors.

The Bluejay boys varsity basketball team made history on Friday January 5 as they pulled out a prolific 78-75 upset over the Stevens Point Panthers; snapping the Panthers 56 game WVC winning streak. Junior point guard Quinn Steckbauer proved to be a driving force in the Bluejay triumph, leading the pack with 28 points, five assists and a pair of rebounds.
Aside from basketball, Quinn competes on the Bluejay varsity football team as a Defensive Back as well as competing on the Amateur Athletic Union Basketball club in the summer months. Quinn is also a member of the MHS Link Crew and the confirmation program at St. Francis-Xavier church.
When he finds free time, Steckbauer enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as time in the outdoors horseback riding, swimming and sledding.
Son of Jeb and Tammy Steckbauer of Merrill, Quinn currently maintains a flawless 4.0 GPA. Following graduation in the Spring of 2019, Quinn plans to attend a 4-year university where he hopes to play Basketball. Although the field is wide open of which school he will attend, Quinn plans to major in the health field.
