Friday night, an officer observed a red pick-up truck swerve off of East Main Street into the parking lot of a nearby business, then continue through a snow bank.
The officer drove around the business to find the driver of the truck, 31-year-old Mitchell Pester, hanging outside the door of the truck, and vomiting.
The officer made contact with Pester and observed several signs indicative of impairment. Pester submitted to field sobriety testing which he did not complete in a satisfactory manner.
As a result, Pester was taken into custody on a charge of 1st Offense Operating While Intoxicated and transported to the Merrill Police Department for processing. He was later released to a responsible party.
