V. James Shrock, Jr.

V. James Shrock, Jr., age 67, of Merrill, died Friday, June 13, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the Hospice program.
James was born May 22, 1947, in Dixon, IL, son of the late Virgil James and Agnes (McKunne) Shrock.  He married Judith Radlinger Purcell on October 7, 1978 at her parent’s home by Judge Ronald Keberle.  
Jim attended school in Three Lakes where he excelled in hockey and football.  After high school graduation, Jim attended Northcentral Technical College in Wausau where he attained several degrees.  
Jim worked in housing where he was a supervisor of building construction.  He then took his expertise on the road with P.F.S. Corporation out of Madison, WI.  He worked for the company out of his home office in Merrill for 38 years.
Jim loved bowling, hunting, working and his family.  Jim really enjoyed living in Minocqua on Cranberry Lake where his family had moved from Dixon, IL.  They built “Shrock’s Resort” on their lakefront property.  
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Judith Shrock, of Merrill; three daughters, Paula Shrock-Metallo, Angie (Joel Braun) Shrock-Braun, and Sara Shrock-Castro; two sons, James (Maci) Shrock and John (Jen) Purcell; twelve grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Robert, Megan, McKayla, Jayden, Peyton, McKenna, Brittany, Heather, Holly, and McKayla; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Hudson; two siblings, Debbie and Brian; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Radlinger.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Agnes Shrock; and his father-in-law, Roman Radlinger.
The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.  Father Michael McLain will preside.  Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
