Elsie C. Kalenske, 98, of Merrill, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
She was born October 25, 1914 in Gleason to the late Otto & Alvina (Mielke) Hintze. She married Emmett Kalenske in 1936. He preceded her in death in January 21, 1984. Elsie worked many years as a clerk for Van’s meat store.
Survivors include her two sons: Gary (Linda) Kalenske, Merrill and Rodney (Florence) Kalenske, Fort Meyers, FL; four grandchildren: Matthew (Tracy) Kalenske, Andrew Kalenske, Lindsay (Lori) Kalenske & Kevin (Mary) Kalenske; and three great-grandchildren: Slater Kalenske, Ashley Kalenske & Nathan Kalenske. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett, and her siblings.
A private family service will be held Friday at Restlawn Memorial Park prior to her entombment. Rev. Nathan Kramer will officiate. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
