On Saturday, July 11, 2026, Zurko Promotions of Shawano held its second Merrill-area event of the summer season. The Flea Market battled against local events like weddings, parties, and the Faith and Family Fun Day at Normal Park. Regional events including Hodag Country Festival in Rhinelander and the Iola Car Show also competed for attendees. And hot and humid weather conditions kept some local residents indoors. The Merrill Flea Market was the second in as many months held at the Merrill Fairgrounds.
Zurko Promotions is already planning for four Merrill Flea Markets next summer.
Open-air flea markets are always subject to varying attendance from both vendors and shoppers based on the weather and competing events, but the organizers are hopeful Merrill will become a regular location, drawing both shoppers and more vendors from the surrounding area, as well as those who travel even farther to sell or explore.
Whether simply browsing for interesting finds or searching for a specific piece or a gem to add to a collection, shoppers can always be assured of one thing: You never know what you’ll find at a flea market.
From antique and vintage pieces to collectibles of all kinds, handcrafted items, clothing, jewelry, tools, decor, garden pieces, signs and license plates, and even food and beverages, the ever-changing inventory can be a lot of fun to peruse. And for those who love sifting through the myriad offerings at a flea market, it’s all about the hunt for treasure.
