The Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo recently held a Royalty Clinic at the Eagles Club in Merrill, drawing title holders and aspiring queens from across the state.
The clinic was designed to help participants develop communication and leadership skills, build confidence, and focus on personal growth. Sessions covered topics including personality and presence, interview skills, speeches, and public appearances.
Featured speakers included past Miss Rodeo Wisconsin Ashley Johnson, former Miss Rodeo America judge Sarah Bohnenkamp, and Miss Rodeo Wisconsin 2026 Shannon Sachs. Johnson also organized the event alongside the Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo.
Attendees included current rodeo queens, other title holders, and young women hoping to earn titles in rodeo and fair competitions.
Local and regional businesses contributed to the event. Polka-Dotted Pie donated desserts, and Auburndale FFA provided cheese and sausage baskets for the guest speakers. Attendees also received tote bags donated by Vivian Sisters Embroidery, filled with items from Custom Meats, Geiss Meat Service, Merrill Chamber of Commerce, Weinbrenner, Reindl Printing, Cinch, Rohling Hills Saddlery & Leather, Coyotes Western Store, Melissa Ann’s Beauty Bar, Mounted Justice Cowboy Shooting, Dwayne Krueger Insurance, WJMT and the Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo.
Applications for the next Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo queen are being accepted through March 15, 2026. Information is available at wrpr.org.
The Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo will hold its 37th annual event June 19–21, 2026.
