Tylor Dale Hartwig

Tylor Dale Hartwig, age 54, of Irma, WI, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital.  Tylor was born in Merrill, WI, on February 18, 1969, to the late Francis “Bud” and Shirley (Juneau) Hartwig. Tylor was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County where he met his love, Charlotte, in Junior High School. They were lifelong friends and along their journey were married in a small ceremony. His children were his many dogs over the years which included Grand Night Champion Lady, and Diesel.  Earlier this year, he lost his dogs, Adam and Missy. In addition, he doted on his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends of the family.  Plus, the children that knew him as their second father.  He was passionate about many things.  Family and friends were the most important followed by his love for truck pulling, fishing with family, hunting, gardening, making maple syrup, and always had time for shooting the breeze with friends over coffee or a meal. Tylor loved the outdoors and made his career in the logging industry. Over the years, he worked with so many being self-employed as Tylor Hartwig Trucking, and CT Trucking, along with driving dump truck and log trucks for others. He was currently working at Wilson Forestry, LLC and really enjoyed the team of people he worked with. He was also a current Skanawan Town Supervisor.  Tylor was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He may not have expressed his faith to many, but he did live by his faith.  He was active in many associations including the Midwest Pullers Association, Lincoln Gun Club, and the Northern Wisconsin Houndsmen Association.  He also helped in organizing the Lincoln County Fair Truck and Tractor Pull.  Tylor was a person who could talk to anyone and always had a story to tell. His heart was big and was known to give the shirt off his back.  Tylor was an organ donor and will help others live thanks to his unselfish desire to always help others in need. He was a fun-loving and supportive man that will be missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Downing; his sister, Shelly Hartwig; his mother-in-law and father-in- law, Mary and Jim Downing; his sisters-in-law, Kelly Hartwig, Carla Hartwig, Ann Zastrow, and Barb Wais; his brother-in-law, John Wais; his nieces, Randi (Max) Callos, Haile Nelson, and Cassie Hartwig; his nephews, Bradley (Mindy) Litzen, and Adam (Ben Schorr) Zastrow.  He is further survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews.  Tylor was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Bud Hartwig; his brothers, Kelley and Kim Hartwig; his brother-in-law, Clark Downing; and his nieces, Jessica Hartwig and Jerrica Woller.

Memorial services for Tylor Hartwig will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 12:00 PM, at Generations Funeral Home. Heidi Stevenson will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 12:00 PM. Following the service, a luncheon/celebration will continue until 4:00 PM at the Maple Bear Campground (formerly Birkensee’s Campground). Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
