Despite much colder temperatures than in previous weeks and a dreary, rainy day, children throughout Merrill donned their Halloween costumes, many dressed as their favorite movie or cartoon character, animal, or ghoul, to knock on doors and declare “trick or treat” in residential neighborhoods last Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024. Inflatable dinosaurs and giant pigs, tigers and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, princesses and sunflowers, witches and skeletons, cowgirls and Cookie Monster, hunters and clowns, Mickey Mouse and more roamed the community collecting bags of candy.
Despite the weather, the turnout seemed typical, and many parents and kids were just thankful they didn’t have to trick or treat in snow like some years in Wisconsin.
