A 17-year-old Tomahawk female is facing charges following an incident that took place at SARA Park in Tomahawk earlier this month.
Court records show that the teen is charged with felony counts of first-degree reckless injury, aggravated battery-intend great bodily harm, and first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
According to a Criminal Complaint filed in Lincoln County Court on Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, law enforcement was notified of a crash at SARA Park on Thursday, Aug. 13, at approximately 11:16 a.m. It was reported that a female had been struck by a vehicle.
The victim was identified in the Complaint as a 13-year-old female.
The Complaint alleged that the victim and the 17-year-old “had been exchanging words” during the day, and the two planned to meet at SARA Park “to possibly fight.”
“It was not clear if that meant a physical altercation,” the Complaint said.
According to the Complaint, witnesses reported that both parties were at SARA Park, with the victim walking and the 17-year-old driving a vehicle. The Complaint said that as the 17-year-old drove past the victim, the two would allegedly “exchange words.” During one pass, the 17-year-old reportedly threw a bottle at the victim.
The Complaint said a witness saw the 17-year-old strike the victim with the vehicle.
A Tomahawk Police Department detective took photos of the vehicle, noting damage consistent with an individual having been struck, the Complaint said.
The victim was recording a video on her phone when she was struck, according to the Complaint.
The victim suffered serious injuries. It was reported that she was transported to a nearby hospital before being airlifted to another medical facility.
The 17-year-old appeared in Lincoln County court on Friday, Aug. 14, where a $5,000 bond was set.
Cash bond was signed on Monday, Aug. 17, according to court records. Under terms of the bond, the 17-year-old was to be equipped with a global positioning system (GPS) device. She is also prohibited from contacting or going within 1,000 feet of the victim or the victim’s family, and she is barred from operating any vehicles.
The 17-year-old was scheduled to be back in court on Monday, Aug. 24, for a status hearing.
