Swimmers edged

Posted
The THS boys swim team was looking for its second win of the season but instead Medford avenged a previous loss with a 82-75 dual.

"Tomahawk's nine swimmers versus Medford's 10 swimmers...as close a match-up as there ever was," THS coach Marion Kohl said. "All-in-all, a really competitive meet. While in November, Medford's swimmers were relatively new and untrained to competition, they are now a much more polished team."

The Hatchets did take firsts from: John Lazarz (200 IM, 2:24.84/100 fly, 1:06.43); Joe Nettesheim (500 free, 6:14.00); the 200 medley (Alex Tollison, Mason Brown, Lazarz, Nettesheim, 2:03.94); and the 400 free (Nettesheim, Tollison, Brown, Lazarz, 3:44.09).

Runner-up finishes came from: James Leet (200 free, 2:32.38); Tollison (100 free, 1:04.40); Nettesheim (100 back, 1:10.90); Brown (100 brea, 1:27.23); and the 200 free (Brown, Leet, Chase Hilgendorf, Victor Ierulli, 2:00.71).
