MERRILL – The annual Fund Drive for St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) Conference of Merrill is currently underway, and the conference is seeking public support to help those in Lincoln County who need emergency assistance.

Helping to jump start the Annual Matching Fund Campaign, corporate sponsors have provided a total of $60,000.00, according to a release from SVDP. The list of corporate sponsors includes The Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross, the family of Nick and Kathy Laphen, Our Way Inc. and the Merrill Community Foundation.

“We are honored to have the support of the corporate sponsors; all gifts will double in value to benefit those in need,” SVDP stated.

This past year, SVDP was able to help 415 adults and 287 children in many ways, the release said, noting that the SDVP Outreach Program has provided $125,169.00 in assistance to 370 households during the past 12 months.

The SDVP Thrift Store in downtown Merrill, which contributes all store profits to the Outreach Program has provided over $8,415.00 worth of clothing, furniture and other items to those in need.
