Susan “Sue” K. Pfantz, a.k.a “Boots”, age 74, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024, at her home in the town of Pine River, with her family and friends by her side and under the care of Compassus Hospice. She was born on October 19, 1949 to the late Edwin and Bette Jane (Litke) Hahn in Merrill. After graduating high school, Sue went on to further her education by taking some accounting courses. She met her soul mate, Ronald Pfantz, and the two exchanged marriage vows on October 7, 1972 in Merrill. He survives.
Sue worked at M&I Bank in Wausau, before working in payroll and as an accountant with the Las Vegas Police Department for many years. She and Ron were “snowbirds” after their retirement, and made many trips to Las Vegas during the winter months, and back to their home in the town of Pine River, during the summer months. While out in Las Vegas, Sue and Ron would take in a lot of shows and concerts. She was also an avid Bingo player! She always looked forward to coming back to Wisconsin, though, as she was able to spend time with her family and her precious grandchildren. In her younger years, Sue enjoyed bowling. She was a fun person that was very passionate and determined. She was a member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Pine River. Sue will be deeply missed, but will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Sue is survived by her husband: Ron, daughters: Sara (John) and Molly (Gus), grandchildren: Gabriel, James, Avery, Christian, Asher and David, sisters: Chris and Sherri (Robert), brothers: Todd (Kim) and Tim and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Alan and Jack.
Per family request, no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
