Students invited to participate in River Bend Trail contest

The River District Development Foundation of Merrill is inviting students in all schools to participate in a composition contest regarding the River Bend Trail project following primarily abandoned rail lines through Merrill to the Council Grounds State Mark.

Walmart has donated a handsome bicycle which will be awarded to the best theme about how the trail will enhance and benefit the citizens of Merrill. A committee of Foundation members/advisors will make the award at the end of April. All papers must be submitted on line by April 25 to: KGB607@charter.net or to River Bend Trail, 607 Cedar St., Merrill, WI 54452.

All teachers are encouraged to participate with their students. A series of student work samples will be published regularly in local media. For further information, you may call 715-574-9037.
