Sherry Simon was born March 28, 1949 in Merrill, Wisconsin to Paul and Lorraine Simon. She died peacefully at home on March 29, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. After graduating from Merrill High School in 1967, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point graduating in 1971 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. She completed her education with a Master’s Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Sherry's teaching career began and ended at Little Chute High School. Initially she taught Physical Education, however, she wore many hats; that of a highly regarded Track, Softball, and Volleyball coach, a Driver's Education Instructor, LSHS At Risk Coordinator, and helped to create many other student leadership and mentoring programs. She made an astounding impact on so many of her students. As a result, in 1999, Sherry received the prestigious Teacher Fellowship Award by the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation.
Sherry was a loving, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her love of God and her church kept her faith unyielding and she never faltered. She loved music (especially the sound of the loons), sports, the outdoors, especially deer hunting and fishing. She was a very avid football fan, and truly enjoyed watching the Packers as long as they played their best. Sherry was extremely generous, compassionate, and touched many hearts and lives! Whether it was career, family, friends, or her many sports related interests, she lived her life to its fullest and beyond.
Sherry is survived by her dog: Shiloh; brother: Paul J. (Patty) Simon; sister: Janice (Martin) Krebs; Nieces and Nephews: Lisa (Brian) Stoffel, Jody Simon, Andrea Krebs, Amy (George) Henrich; Great Nieces and Nephews: Derrick Simon, David Simon, Tyler (Emma) Stoffel, Amanda (fiancé, Josh Brown) Stoffel, Allyson Krebs, Colin and Taylor Jacobson, Aaron Doody; Great Great Nieces and Nephews: Ella Simon; Azalea, Alora, and Alaina Stoffel; Elliot Krebs; Nephew-dog: Radar Krebs.
