Robert “Bob” J. Lee, Sr., age 88, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Tomahawk Health Services under the care of Compassus Hospice. Bob was born on July 13, 1935, in Downers Grove, IL, to the late Robert E. and Dorothy (Kerstin) Lee.
Bob graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1954 and in 1955, he married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Jankowski. In 1969, he moved his family to Tomahawk where he joined the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. After 26 years, he retired as Chief Deputy. Bob was a member of the Tomahawk School Board for many years and also served on the Tomahawk City Council and the Tomahawk Police and Fire Commission. He was a member of the Lincoln County Board of Directors and proudly served as Tomahawk’s mayor from 2000 to 2014. In 2022, Bob was presented with the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement award.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Lee; his children, Melody (Mike) Young, Cathy (David) Koth, Robbie (Tiffany) Lee, and Mike (Robin) Lee. Bob is further survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy.
