On Friday, Feb.16, Tomahawk High School sophomore Travis Phillips finished 4th in the WIAA Division 2 State Boys Swim Meet at UW-Madison’s Natatorium. Travis placed fourth in both the 50-yard Freestyle (21.98 secs) and 100-yard Butterfly (52.96 secs) events; capping off a very successful season as a first-year member of the THS varsity Boys Swim Team.
In addition to competitive swimming, Travis is a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Tomahawk Youth Group as well as the THS Science Club.
In his free-time, Travis enjoys reading and watching documentaries as well as spending time in the outdoors with family and friends; snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.
Son of Lynn and David Phillips of Tomahawk, Travis currently maintains a flawless 4.0 GPA.
Although high school graduation is a couple years down the road, Travis already has his sights set on attending a 4-year university and hopes to continue to swim competitively at the next level.
