Penny Zastrow, age 58, of Merrill, Wisconsin, died on February 26, 2025, at the Rhinelander Aspirus Hospital. She was born on February 27, 1966 in Merrill, the daughter of Raymond and Donna (Rogers) Zastrow. Penny graduated from the Merrill High School in 1984. She has been a lifelong resident of Merrill.
Penny loved the Packer's, playing cards and games with close friends, Joan Gable, Karen Gable and Renee Schmidlkofer. She loved her kitties, Lacey Jane and Stanley very much. Penny really did have a heart of gold. A giving person and very thoughtful. She had a wonderful sense of humor and just enjoyed helping others. We would like to thank all the health care workers that came in contact with Penny, especially the staff at Pine Crest Nursing Home and the Merrill staff at Aspirus hospital for taking care of Penny.
Penny is survived by her brothers Elroy (Ara) Zastrow and Chris Zastrow her nieces and nephews, Amanda, Ashley, Kaila, Kody and Lucas and close cousins, Denise Severt Gruetzmacher, Gwen Cotter and Gayle Dobson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
