One person was reported injured in a two vehicle crash in the Town of Merrill on Friday evening, July 17.
According to a press release issued by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, at around 6:22 p.m. on July 17, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a two vehicle crash that occurred in the northbound lane of US Highway 51 at Lincoln Drive, with one vehicle reported to be on its roof and the driver trapped. An initial investigation revealed that one vehicle was trying to cross Highway 51 on Lincoln Drive when it struck another vehicle that was traveling northbound on Highway 51. The driver of the struck vehicle was extricated and taken to a local hospital with an arm injury. Highway 51 was shut down between County Road K and Lincoln Drive, until the vehicles were able to be removed. Merrill Fire/EMS, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Merrill PD and Tomahawk EMS all assisted with the crash.
