Norman K. Genrich, 75, Town of Hewitt, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 under the care of LeRoyer Hospice Care at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born Jan. 12, 1935 in the Town of Hewitt, son of the late Arthur and Viola (Strassman) Genrich. On Jan. 15, 1955 he married Shirley Wiensch at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. She survives.
Norman was a lifelong resident in the town of Hewitt. He and his wife Shirley operated a dairy farm there until their son Kevin took over the operation. Norman enjoyed the outdoors and the many great things that mother nature had to offer like, gardening, hunting, working in the woods and making maple syrup. He was always a big promoter in his passion for the outdoors and loved to see other people enjoy it.
Norman served his country for two years in the US Army and also served his community for 14 years as a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Hewitt.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Genrich; sons, Keith (Jean) Genrich and Kevin (Rhonda Siikarla) Genrich, all of Wausau; brother, Rodney Genrich, Wausau; and sister, Carol Genrich, Colorado; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three infant children.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 12, at Calvary Lutheran Church, N365 Cain Creek Road, Merrill. The Rev. John Czarnota officiated. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery, Town of Hewitt.
