New members inducted into Trinity School’s Lutheran Junior Honor Association

On Dec. 18, 2024, four new members were inducted into Trinity Lutheran School’s Chapter of the Lutheran Junior Honor Association. The induction ceremony was conducted at Trinity Church by Principal Scott Johnson, chapter advisors Georgia Gustafson and Karli Severt, Director of Christian Education Devan Arntson, and current members Kayla Klimek, Aubrey Renzelmann, Jillian Severt, and Emmie Steinagel.
New members inducted include eighth grader Lexee Laabs (daughter of Ike and Adonnica Laabs), and seventh graders Amber Blennert (daughter of Breck and Bryanna Blennert), Adeline Huth (daughter of Mike and Rebekka Huth), and Chloe McKeen (daughter of Jordan and Erin McKeen).
Students in seventh and eighth grades with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher were invited to apply. To be considered for induction, candidates were required to complete a detailed application listing their service, leadership, and extracurricular experiences; write an essay about their discipleship and faith walk; and secure two letters of recommendation. The faculty then evaluated and voted on all applicants.
The Lutheran Junior Honor Association has been busy this year with projects focusing on discipleship, leadership, service, and academics. Some of the activities completed this year include sending care packages to Trinity School alumni who are freshmen away at college for the first time, assisting with the first grade Grandparent Day, running a Caps for Kids fundraiser, assisting in the 4K classroom with special activities, organizing and promoting a school-wide fundraiser for Hurricane Relief with proceeds going to Orphan Grain Train, selling Candy Grams and using the proceeds to purchase gifts for the Rotary Club toy drive, bell ringing for the Salvation Army, planning and promoting Christmas dress-up days, hosting a middle school dance, packing “Food for Kids” bags at St. Stephens, and donating the additional funds raised during the Candy Gram sale in December to the MAC Home.
