Michigan man dies after accident at PCA Tomahawk mill

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is investigating an industrial accident which left one Michigan man dead and another critically injured.

On Tuesday at 8:23 a.m. a 911 call was received from the PCA Mill at N9090 County Rd. E, town of Bradley. Tomahawk EMS along with Lincoln County deputies responded to the mill after they reported two people were burned.

Both victims were transported from the scene by paramedics from Tomahawk EMS to Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital. There, Tomahawk police and fire departments secured two landing zones so Spirit I and Spirit II could land and transported the victims to the burn center at UW Madison Hospital. As of 4 p.m. both men were listed in critical condition in the burn unit. UW Madison Hospital notified the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Tuesday night that one of the victims had died from his injuries

Both victims were contractors working at the mill. The victims are from Ontonagon, Mich. The company they were working for is also based out of Ontonagon.

PCA staff and the Ontonagon company are in the process of contacting family members. Names of those involved will be released Wednesday. The case is still under investigation to determine the cause of the incident. The Lincoln County Coroner's Office has joined the investigation.
