Merrill Varsity swimmers take first place in four events, lose meet to Everest

On Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, the Merrill Girls Varsity Swim Team hosted a dual against the DC Everest Girls at the Prairie River Middle School pool.
While DC Everest took the meet, a number of Merrill Varsity girls made a splash with first place times in their events.

The Merrill Girls took first place in the following events:
• Event 2 - 200 Yard Medley Relay - Addison Jirovec, Olivia Pajtash, Marissa Miles, and Claire Jirovec with a time of 2:01.15
• Event 8 - 50 Yard Freestyle - Marissa Miles with a time of 26.71
• Event 10 - 100 Yard Butterfly - Marissa Miles with a time of 1:02.48
• Event 20 - 100 Yard Breaststroke - Olivia Pajtash with a time of 1:17.85

Merrill Varsity girls also had a number of second place finishes in the following events:
• Event 4 - 200 Yard Freestyle - Deylah Schulz with a time of 2:22.36
• Event 6 - 200 Yard IM - Addison Jirovec with a time of 2:32.63
• Event 12 - 100 Yard Freestyle - Claire Jirovec with a time of 1:01.52
• Event 14 - 500 Yard Freestyle - Olivia Pajtash with a time of 5:55.78
• Event 18 - 100 Yard Backstroke - Addison Jirovec with a time of 1:08.30
• Event 22 - 400 Yard Freestyle Relay - Addison Jirovec, Caroline Durbin, Brenna Jirovec, and Olivia Pajtash with a time of 4:23.96
