Merrill Varsity Football 2024 season comes to an end at the playoffs

On Friday night, Oct. 25, 2024, the Merrill Varsity Football Team traveled to Onalaska to compete in the 2024 playoffs. They were the #7 seed in round one. And there, unfortunately, is where the Bluejays’ season came to an end.
“We gave the heavily favored Hilltoppers all they could handle but couldn’t finish out the game,” said Jason Wadzinski, Head Varsity Coach for the Merrill Bluejays Football Team. “Onalaska took the lead late in the fourth quarter and held on for a 13-8 victory.”
“As a coach I am so incredibly proud of these young men for almost pulling off the upset,” he said. “Special shout out to our 12 seniors and what they’ve done to help turn around the Merrill Football Program.”
