MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

At 3:33 p.m. Probation and Parole requested that a male party be taken into custody. The male party was arrested for a probation violation.

At 9:14 p.m. an employee from a local motel reported that he recognized a male individual from a few nights prior, who had broken into one of the slot machines and stolen $400 worth of cash. When police arrived, the male party had already left. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 9:30 a.m. officers investigated a sudden death at Jenny Towers at 711 E 1st St. in Merrill. The death was of a 95-year-old female.

At approximately 2:25 p.m. Probation and Parole requested that a male party be taken into custody. The male party was arrested for a probation violation.

At 7:17 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for a registration violation. During the traffic stop it was learned the driver did not have a valid driver’s license and was also on a bond that had a condition he not operate a motor vehicle. The driver was arrested for bail jumping.

At approximately 5:27 p.m. Dispatch received a report of a Pontiac Grand Prix that drove into the front porch at a residence on East 1st St. in Merrill. The investigation is ongoing.

01-01-22

At approximately 3:05 a.m. officers from the Merrill Police Department and Deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a bar fight a tavern in the City of Merrill. It was reported that there were approximately 20 people outside. Officers arrived and spoke with witnesses who were highly intoxicated. The investigation is ongoing.

A local motel reported that a male party exchanged two fake $20 bills for cash on the night of Dec. 30, 2021.The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 12:19 a.m. officers responded to a report of parties yelling at each other outside of a residence on Park St. Officers found the source of the yelling and warned the party for his behavior.

At approximately 10:15 a.m. officers were called to a report of a male party urinating outside of a local fast food restaurant. Officer checked the area and could not locate the involved party.
