Merrill Mayor to seek re-election

On Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, Merrill Mayor Steve Hass announced that he will seek re-election in the Spring 2026 Election.
“I am very excited to announce that I am running for re-election as Mayor of the City of Merrill,” he said. “We have a lot of great things happening across the city right now, new projects getting off the ground, smarter decisions being made, and a stronger focus on what truly matters to the people who live here. We’re doing all of this while making sure every citizen continues to have a voice. Over the last term, I’ve created events and programs that bring our employees and our community together, and the growth we’re seeing is being done responsibly, without reckless spending. I’ve also put a strong focus on strengthening relationships with our community partners, and that teamwork is already paying off for Merrill.”
“I hope I can count on the continued support of our residents so we can keep building on the progress we’ve started and continue moving Merrill in the right direction,” he said.
