Merrill man killed, another injured in UTV rollover

Ryan P. Adams, age 32, of Merrill was killed on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, shortly before 2 a.m. when the UTV he was driving entered a ditch and rolled. A call to the Lincoln County 911 Dispatch Center indicated he was unresponsive, and he was later pronounced dead by Lincoln County Coroner Valerie Caylor.
A 40-year-old male passenger on the UTV was ejected from the UTV and was life flighted to a local hospital by Medivac Air 2. He sustained serious injuries.
The incident occurred on Scott Rd. south of Held St. in the Township of Scott. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, “preliminary investigation suggests that the UTV was southbound on Scott Rd. when it lost control, entered the ditch, and rolled.” The crash remains under investigation.
In addition to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the Merrill Fire Department, Merrill Police Department, and Wisconsin DNR also assisted at the scene.
