Merrill Lions, memorial, and Friends group make new kiosk possible

A new kiosk was recently installed in Council Grounds State Park (CGSP) where the Riverbend Trail meets the CGSP Brown Trail at the entrance of the Park. One side of the kiosk will hold/display CGSP maps and information, while the opposite side will display Merrill information.
The kiosk was selected by CGSP Manager Sarah Gilbert to fit well in the designated space. The purchase was made possible by a donation from the Merrill Lions Club, a donation in memory of James Matuszak, donations by Friends of Council Grounds State Park (FCGSP) group members Cathy Robinson and Ernie McCarthy, and funds FCGSP earned through firewood sales and watercraft rental.
Installation was completed thanks to volunteers from FCGSP.
The kiosk will help Park visitors learn more about Merrill and help walkers on the Riverbend Trail better enjoy their time in CGSP.
