Merrill Ice Reflections show draws 104 skaters for “Boot Skatin’ Boogie”

The Merrill Ice Reflections Figure Skating Club held its annual skating show this past weekend, Feb. 14-15, 2026. The theme for this year’s show was “Boot Skatin’ Boogie” and the production included 104 skaters taking the ice in 32 performances.
“The annual show is a fundraiser and a way to showcase the skills our skaters are learning in their weekly lessons at the rink,” said Kelly Kraegenbrink, Board Member for the Merrill Ice Reflections Skating Club.
Planning for the event is no small undertaking. Kraegenbrink noted that preparations begin a full year in advance, with a show committee working to select the theme, songs, and costumes, as well as preparing decorations.
This year’s show also included a special moment recognizing two high school Seniors — Ella Berenz and Korina Kraegenbrink — both of whom began skating with the club at age 4.
Coaches at the Merrill Ice Reflections Skating Club include Montana Grabowsky, Brooklyn Kraegenbrink, Donna Vorpagel-Gunther, Madi Altman-Wendt, and Korina Kraegenbrink, with interns Lilly Hoffman and Mya Meyer also contributing this season.
Kraegenbrink extended gratitude to the community for its support, thanking “everyone who came out and supported the event through ticket sales, basket raffles, and the 50-50 raffle.”
