Merrill City Band to open season at Memorial Day ceremony

The Merrill City Band will make its first appearance of the 2026 season on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, joining veterans, service members, auxiliary members and scouts at the Veterans Memorial at St. Francis Cemetery.
The band will begin performing at 10:30 a.m., with the ceremony to follow at 11 a.m. The program will include patriotic selections, hymns and marches. The traditional “Marches of the Armed Forces,” honoring all six branches of the military, will be featured.
The band’s summer concert season opens Wednesday, June 24, and runs through Aug. 5, with concerts set to take place in the Normal Park Gazebo. If two or more concerts are rained out, a makeup date has been set for Aug. 12.
