Mediation ends strike at Merrill Manufacturing

Merrill Manufacturing and its production and maintenance employees, represented by United Lodge No 2362, IAM, announced Thursday that they have reached a settlement that ends the strike against the company that began on March 23, 2010.??¢??????¯ The settlement includes a new labor agreement that has been ratified by the Union membership.

In a press release, Patrick Taylor, President of Merrill Manufacturing thanked the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, its production and maintenance employees and the IAM for working together to reach an agreement that will give the company an opportunity to meet the challenges in the market.

"Now is the time to focus on putting the strike behind us and work together to grow the Company for the benefit of our employees, our community, and our customers," Taylor said in the release.
