Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) recently announced the hiring of Nate Lemmens as the new Associate Principal at Prairie River Middle School (PRMS), replacing Diane Goetsch, who retired at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
Nate has been a special education teacher for the past 12 years. He taught at Alexander Hamilton High School in Milwaukee for one year before taking the head boys basketball position and a special education teaching job at Wausau West High School. He coached and taught special education at Wausau West for the last 11 years and served as department chair for the last 2. Nate is originally from Rhinelander and got his bachelor and masters degree from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.
“I am very excited to join the PRMS team,” Lemmens said, “and I look forward to meeting the staff and students and learning more about the Merrill community.”
“I am very pleased to have Nate join our team. His skill set and experiences will be very helpful to PRMS and to our district. I look forward to working with him,” said Superintendent Shannon Murray.
