While most of the leaves haven’t started dropping yet, we are now into October, and that means seasonal temperatures, beautiful fall colors, and the rainy season will start soon. And that means the leaves will begin dropping in abundance.
Merrill’s 30th annual Make A Difference Day (MADD) will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, and volunteers are needed to help rake the yards of the community’s elderly and disabled residents. Please consider volunteering.
If you are elderly or disabled and have no other means of getting your yard raked, please call Stacy at 414.539.0182 to register for raking help on MADD 2024. Homeowners will need to provide clear plastic bags if they need their leaves bagged. “City lots will be raked first,” organizers said. “Outlying areas may be completed if there are enough volunteers.”
Volunteers should plan to register on Oct. 26, at 8:30 a.m. at Prairie River Middle School, entering at door 14.
“Projects will run from 9 a.m. until about noon,” organizers said. “Workers should bring rakes and gloves and be able to provide transportation to work sites.”
“Cookies, soda, and water will be provided,” they said. “Please consider giving a few hours of your time to help those in our community in need. Working together - WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!”
