The Merrill Enrichment Center will hold a new community event aimed at helping local artists and crafters refresh their creative spaces while offering bargains to fellow hobbyists who want to stock up on supplies and tools.
Called the Art & Craft DeStash, the event will take place on Saturday, Mar. 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Merrill Enrichment/Expo Center, 303 N. Sales St.
“Our Art & Craft DeStash event is designed to attract artists, crafters, and everyday creatives who are looking to save a little money on supplies,” said Tammie Mrachek, Merrill Enrichment Center Director.
The concept emerged naturally from the seasonal urge to declutter. “The idea came about when looking for something new to offer and bring to the area,” she said. “It’s spring and we are starting to clean out our own supply closets.”
For many creative people, experimentation often leads to accumulated supplies. “Knowing how many supplies and materials we buy and try before we find what works best for us ... or before we try a new hobby ... the supplies and cost can really add up,” said Mrachek.
