Lincoln County Sports Club to host blasto and tick talk, Teddy Bear Hunt, and to open range season

Posted

The Lincoln County Sports Club has two upcoming events open to the public — a health presentation at its April general meeting and a family-oriented day at the range in May.

Blasto and tick talk closes out meeting season
The club’s final general meeting of the season will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Lexi Buntrock from the Lincoln County Health Department will present information on two health concerns relevant to the spring season — blastomycosis and ticks — covering the risks, symptoms, and treatment options for each.
The meeting is open to the public. Monthly meetings will resume in the fall, with the next session scheduled for September 24.

Teddy Bear Hunt and range opening day set for May 9

On May 9, the club will host the second annual Teddy Bear Hunt and will officially open the regular range season.
The Teddy Bear Hunt runs from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and is open to children ages 2 through 12. This year’s hunt has been expanded to take participants deeper into the woods. Young hunters will purchase a “license,” be paired with a guide, and head out with parents or guardians. Upon returning, a DNR warden will be on hand to check licenses and answer questions. The cost is $20 per license.
At the range, Range Safety Officers will offer demonstrations of the club’s Rimfire programs, with opportunities for participants to join in. Giveaways are also planned.
