The Lincoln County Sports Club will hold its 28th annual Fundraiser and Open House this Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the club, W5071 Schulz Spur Road, six miles north of Merrill.
The event is free and open to the public, with raffle drawings beginning at 3:30 p.m. Attendees need not be present to win.
“There will be activities and demonstrations for all ages, from the ‘fishing pond’ and archery for children to demonstrations on the shooting range,” said club Secretary Kathy Yahr. “Many organizations will be represented with information about what they provide to the community.”
Kids’ activities include a pellet gun balloon shoot, “big lunker” fishing, a 3-D archery shoot, and a teddy bear hunt, which carries a $20 registration fee that includes a license, a hunting guide, and a teddy bear. Adults can play Plinko for prizes, try their hand at unique firearms under the watch of range safety officers, and enter day-of raffles for items including a gun safe, a Green Bay Packers autographed football package, a Weston Wine & Spirits package, two recliners, and a 2½-day fishing trip.
Yahr said a food truck and dessert vendor will also be on site, with food and beverages available all day. Merget’s Mouthwatering Mayhem and Stephanie Johnson’s Sweet Surprises are slated to provide food and treats, respectively, according to event materials.
The club’s general raffle will again offer more than $6,000 in cash and gift certificate prizes, including a top prize of $1,500 cash. Other prizes range from a Ruger American Gen 2 Predator sports rifle and a Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 compact 9mm pistol to gift cards from Fleet Farm, Geiss Meats, and Kwik Trip. Raffle tickets are available at more than a dozen area businesses, including Hub Inn, Just Guns, The Rock, Eagles Club, Plautz’s Pub, NAPA — Tomahawk & Merrill, The King Company in Merrill, Gleason Bowling Center, Old Time General Store in Gleason, and Z’s Fork Horners, among others.
“The public is welcomed and encouraged to come out and see what the Sports Club is all about,” Yahr said.
