The Lincoln County Health Department, Aspirus Health, and the Healthy Minds Coalition are inviting county residents to take part in a community-wide Social Connection Challenge throughout May, which is Mental Health Month.
The challenge asks participants to complete 15 activities designed to strengthen social bonds — things like limiting screen time, reaching out to friends and neighbors, helping others, and getting involved in the community. Challenge forms can be picked up at the Lincoln County Health Department, Lincoln County Department of Social Services, T.B. Scott Free Library, Tomahawk Public Library, and the Merrill or Tomahawk Chambers of Commerce, or accessed online at https://bit.ly/LCConnectionChallenge26.
Completed forms must be submitted by June 5, 2026, to be entered in a raffle for one of 20 prizes — a $50 gift certificate redeemable at local businesses through the Merrill or Tomahawk Chambers of Commerce. Winners will be contacted the week of June 15.
Kristin Bath, public health promotion and education specialist for the Lincoln County Health Department, said this is the event’s second year. “We hope this challenge provides a fun way for families, friends, and our community to take part in activities that bring us together and are good for our mental health,” Bath said.
Forms can be returned to any pickup location, mailed to the Health Department at 607 N. Sales St., Suite 101, Merrill, or submitted online at the link above.
