We welcome letters to the Editor, a chance for members of the community to comment on issues of concern to them. All letters must be original, not duplications of letters addressed to public officials or written by others. To the Editor:
As a member of the Friends of Council Grounds State Park, I manage the group’s Facebook page and the 10th Annual Amateur Photo Contest. The contest is a fun way to show how much you enjoy the park and all it has to offer. The group appreciates all the past entries and is hoping to have some great entries for this anniversary year submitted by July 31. You can find the rules for the contest on our webpage: councilgrounds.org. First place in each of the four categories will be awarded a 2025 Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission sticker. The photos are shared on Facebook which has almost 1900 followers. In the past 30 days, posts on the page have reached 9278 viewers. This is great free advertising for the park and Merrill as we also promote community events Facebook. Get out and have some family time in the park and take pictures! Thank you, Merrill, for your support. Watch for contest voting to start August 15th on Facebook.
