The T.B. Scott Free Library will display another collection of Lego sets owned by Tim and Dawn Dunbar throughout July and August as part of its Beyond Books: Community ArtShare Exhibit. The display, titled “High 5 for Lego,” marks the fifth consecutive year the Dunbars have participated.
The couple began collecting Lego sets in the 1980s and now own 784 sets totaling more than 490,000 individual pieces, all built and displayed in their home. To accommodate the growing collection, Tim Dunbar built two additional custom shelves for the Botanical Collection sets. New additions this year include expansions to the Star Wars and Stranger Things collections. To mark the nation’s 250th anniversary, the exhibit will also feature sets representing America and several iconic American companies.
The library will host Lego Day on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. The event will include Lego stations and themed activities in the Youth Department, and visitors can enter a drawing to win a Lego set. The Dunbars will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. to give tours and demonstrations and answer questions about the displays in the Carnegie Wing.
