The Lincoln County Health Department (LCHD) is conducting a one-time well water testing program for low-income households.
As part of the program, qualifying households will be provided with a free well water test kit.
In a release, LCHD said individuals with wells should test annually for nitrate and bacteria.
“Through education and the free well water tests, we are hoping to remove barriers that prevent residents from testing their well,” said Erin Ray, LCHD Environmental Health Technician.
Individuals who wish to see if they qualify for the program are asked to first fill out an eligibility survey (bit.ly/3zbagjl). Call Kandie Sippel-King, LCHD Public Health Assistant, at 715.539.1364 or 715.536.0307 with issues accessing the survey.
The program is not intended for businesses or those that are on city water.
Those who are interested in testing water for bacteria and nitrate, but do not qualify for the program, may call LCHD at 715.536.0307 for more information.
