Laura Ann Whitmans, 47, of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 3, 2025. A private gathering will be held at a later date.
Laura was born on August 18, 1977 to Barry and Faye (Huston) Karau in Merrill, WI. She graduated from Medford High School. In her younger years, Laura was employed at Shopko as a retail assistant and a member of New Testament Pentecostal Church.
Laura met her soul mate Hans; they engaged a short while after meeting. Referred to lovingly by Hans as his 'Angel,' they shared a deep connection, spending cherished moments together, especially with their beloved dog, Bella.
Laura is described as expressive, strong willed and a dreamer. Her love for creativity kept her busy, sewing pillows for her family members and floral arrangements for fun. Laura enjoyed cooking and watching Disney Movies but adored Mickey Mouse the most. Laura especially treasured the moments when she would call her sister, brother, and nephew, always eager to connect. Laura cherished her best friend Carol; they shared a love for long chats and adventures together.
Laura is survived by her loving fiancé, Hans; her mother, Faye Yeager (Jim); her siblings: Stacey Karau, Gary (Ashley) Karau, Jimmy (Katie) Yeager, Michelle (Max) Staab, and Lynn (Jason) Borman; her beloved grandma, “Retts” (Lauretta) Huston of Muskego; her nephews, Preston and Gavin, and her cherished poodle, Bella, along with many dear friends and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.
