Larry R. Abraham, 71, Wausau, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at his home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born July 13, 1941 in Wausau, son of the late Lawrence and Marcia (Fenton) Abraham. On Aug. 8, 2003, he married Cindy (Nimz) in Wausau. She survives.
In his younger years, Larry worked as a crane operator for the former Wausau Construction and Wergin Company, and in 1975, started his own business, Abraham Trucking and Excavating. He was a member of the Operators Engineers Local Union #139. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding around in his "Kubota," spending time at the cottage in Lake Tomahawk and spending winters at Lake Bonnet Village in Florida. He loved being with his family and friends and enjoyed socializing with the "Beer Shed Gang."
Survivors include, his wife, Cindy Abraham, Wausau; two children, Robin (Tom) O'Brien, Wausau and Ken (Julie) Abraham, Wausau; three grandchildren, Macy, Makenna and Kolton Abraham; three step-children, Tracy (Sherri) McDougal, Rib Lake, Toni (Chris) Haling, Minocqua and Teri (Scott) Boers, Wausau; four step-grandchildren, Remy and Talon Haling and Elle and Mara Boers; and special friends, David and Marlene Edelburg.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 28, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau. A celebration of Larry's life was held at Homestead in Nutterville on Monday following funeral services. Private burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
