Kenneth (Ken) Leroy Drost went to his heavenly home on July 1, 2024 at the age of 89. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and family at UW Madison hospital.
Ken was born on April 24, 1935 in Watertown, WI. He entered the Army on May 9, 1952 where he was in the Parachute division (T-11). He was honorably discharged due to a broken neck in February 5, 1954. Ken was proud to be a veteran. He wore his Army hat and ring daily. He stated one of the greatest honors he had was the privilege of going on the honor flight in September 2015. He said it was extra special as he went on the honor flight with his daughter-in-law Karen Drost and her dad Ed Klune.
Ken married Vicki (Pufahl) on May 10 1981, the spent the next 43 years making a life together, along with Ken’s 2 children and Vicki’s 3 children. They lived in Arizona, Arkansas, California and Wisconsin. Ken and Vicki liked to travel and brought an RV and went on the road for a while before settling down in Merrill, Wisconsin by family. Ken was a barber and he had opened several barber Shop’s.
Ken will be remembered for his strong faith in God, the love he had for his family, his kindness and willingness to lend a hand where ever needed, and he loved to watch the Brewers and the Packers.
Ken is survived by his wife Victoria of Merrill, WI, his 2 children Doug (Karen) Drost, Tammy (Joe) Wessling, grandchildren Daniel (Alicia) Drost, Kendra (Logan) Flynn and Olivia Cooper. His extended family Teresa Luedtke, Lisa (Brian) Krause and Roland Woller. Ken had 13 great grandchildren.
We will be having a celebration of life for Ken at Bible Presbyterian Church 1605 County Rd. G, Merrill, WI, on August 4th @ 1 PM.
