"Team hustle and overall compete was up," MHS coach Chris Marlowe said. "Despite giving up two early goals we battled back. Twice we fell short of getting over that hump of evening the score. I think if we could have tied it up we could have gained control."
The Bluejay boys played to a 0-0 tie for most of the first period, but the Tigers converted a power play with 14:36 elapsed and scored again with :54 left. Adam Kohnhorst netted a John Bauman pass 5:23 into the second, but Marshfield offsset it just :49 later.
Kohnhorst cut it to 3-2 on an unassisted goal with 8:59 gone. Marshfield pushed it back to a two-goal difference with 13:05 used up.
Dylan Koss fed Kohnhorst on the power play for a final goal with :04 left in the game.
"Lukas Mikulasik had his best game, and Adam willed his way to a hattrick-all three of our goals-while playing with a deep back bruise," Marlowe said.
