HAVEN, a Merrill organization that provides support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, will host the NO MORE Awareness Walk this Saturday, March 7, 2026, beginning at noon at the Agra Pavilion as part of NO MORE Awareness Week.
The NO MORE movement is a national effort focused on ending domestic violence and sexual assault. The movement’s message represents a commitment to no more silence, no more stigma, and no more violence.
Heather, a sexual assault advocate at HAVEN, said the issues addressed by the movement are not distant ones.
“While these issues are often talked about nationally, they are happening here in Merrill,” she said. “Each year, individuals and families in our community reach out to HAVEN for support after experiencing domestic or sexual violence.”
The statistics behind the movement are significant, Heather said. Nationally, one in four women and one in seven men experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime. One in three women and one in six men experience some form of sexual violence.
