Hats Off to Our Heroes: LCVS offers free hats to veterans

The Lincoln County Veterans Services Office is launching a new program to honor area veterans with complimentary hats representing their branch of military service.
“Operation Hats Off to Our Heroes” begins immediately and offers free hats to all veterans with an honorable discharge. Veterans can choose a hat that corresponds to the branch in which they served.
“The courage, commitment, and selflessness demonstrated by our veterans is truly inspiring,” said Matthew Pultz, Director of the Lincoln County Veterans Services (LCVS) Office. “We are incredibly proud to launch ‘Operation Hats Off to Our Heroes’ as a small, yet meaningful, way to show our immense gratitude and to honor their enduring contributions.”
Both current and former clients of the Veterans Services Office are eligible, as well as any veteran with an honorable discharge who hasn’t previously used the office’s services.
The hats are available at the Lincoln County Veterans Services Office, 801 N. Sales St. in Merrill, during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Veterans are encouraged to visit on Veterans Day to ensure availability, as quantities are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
