Genevieve C. Bittner, 95, 1412 Goldas Rd, Mosinee, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at her home.
She was born April 4, 1916, in Scarboro, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Nikiel) Goldas. She married Anton Bittner on Nov. 30, 1935, at St. Paul Catholic Church. He died May 14, 2011.
Genevieve was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and cooking for her children and grandchildren. She was also a lifelong member of St. Monica's Society at St. Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include seven sons, David (Carol) Bittner, Mosinee, Henry Bittner, Jackson, Tony Bittner Jr., Mosinee, John (Lois) Bittner, Appleton, and James (Mary) Bittner, Victor Bittner and Leonard (Kathy) Bittner, all of Mosinee; six daughters, Cary (Bill) Peters, Mosinee, Mary Ellen (Craig) Bureta, Hazelhurst, Anna Mae (Steve) Zeinemann, Wausau, Sally (Terry) Miller, Eagle River, Theresa (David) Conrad, Wausau, and Genevieve (Jerry) Race, Mountain View, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Diana Janikowski, New Berlin; 36 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Martin Bittner, two grandchildren, Traci Bittner and Nicole Bureta, and a great-grandchild, Sarah Suzanne Peters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Genevieve's name may be directed to the St. Paul Catholic Church Building Fund.
