Free health care coverage help at Library

Posted
On Thursday, Jan. 30, get signed up for health care coverage through the Healthcare Marketplace, or find any other Affordable Care Act help you need.

Federally-certified assisters from SRA International, a contractor certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services, will be at T.B. Scott Free Library’s Community Room from 1- 8 p.m.

These sessions provide Lincoln County residents an important opportunity to register for coverage through the Healthcare Marketplace. Director Stacy Stevens adds, “Thirty people were helped with coverage in our Jan. 8 session. SRA International and the library are excited to help the public obtain affordable health insurance.”

Appointments are not necessary, but if you want one, call 715-218-0335 to set up a time.

Assisters will help you create or check your Marketplace account, review health plans and complete enrollment. If you’re not ready to sign up, they’ll answer your questions about the health insurance exchanges and provide information.

Enrollment assistance in Spanish is available onsite, and in over 100 other foreign languages by phone.

Enrollment sessions generally take between 30 and 40 minutes. Bring with you Social Security numbers and employer and income information such as pay stubs or W-2 forms (for you and all family members who are applying for coverage), photo ID, and policy numbers for any current health insurance plans covering members of your household.

Bring your own computer if you want to enroll on it; otherwise, SRA International assisters will have computers to sign you up.

This is a Scott Free Event. Refreshments will be provided by Checkered Churn and First Street Coffee Station. Call the library at 715-536-7191 or check www.tbscottlibrary.org with questions.
