Five Merrill High School golfers have been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin (GCAW).
Parker Klebenow, Jacob Schmeltzer, Chase Klebenow, Evan Elliott, and Colton Burrows have each been recognized as a 2024 Academic All-State honoree.
To achieve this honor, student-athletes are submitted by member coaches of the GCAW and must also have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher; be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior; be in good standing regarding athletic and school codes of conduct at their school; and have participated in at least 75% of their team’s Varsity competitions during the 2024 season.
The 5 Merrill students are among a total of 421 students from 137 different high schools so honored. The GCAW was formed by high school golf coaches in 1986 to help build and enhance Wisconsin’s reputation for developing quality junior players by promoting golf in schools and communities.
